What was New at the Fort for 1995.
- Sunday 24th of December
Interested in writing science fiction or fantasy? I received
via email details about a competition being run for aspiring
writers. The details are now online for you to peruse if
interested.
I have often felt the web would be an ideal place for
promoting such contests. So many literate people with
aspirations to being writers lurk on the net it almost seems
to be crying out for it.
- Friday 15th of December
Just added a new comment into the Atrium, about
Weeks. Still no idea on
when, if at all, these pages are moving. I have been given a
months extension to the decision making time. I aim to make
use of that time to give a potential new ISP a chance to enter
the Wellington market.
- Saturday 9th of December
Updated the ARM chips
to chat about the upcoming StrongARM and the released ARM8
devices. Whee heee! Raw fun that entry.
As a general public service I should warn readers that
Christmas cheer is not appreciated. Don't send it,
'kay? And as for that large red fellow with the beard, well lets
just say I have plans for him...
And yes, surface to air missles are a normal thing to
have in the front garden.
- Tuesday 5th of December
Ugh, christmas decorations are coming up and people are
trying to be pleasant to each other. Ordinarily I'd
regard this as good news but I know damned well that this is all
for show. See the Comments
section for a more detailed grumble about the event we call
Christmas.
On the up side I am pleased to place two more links into the
Teleport sections. Namely to
the Dilbert Zone and the Astronomy Picture of the Day. Both are
wonderful sites.
Finally, as a warning to those diligent readers who actually
use this help page, the WebFort may be moving soon. My service
provider has announced a new charging scheme that is somewhat
expensive. Accordingly I am researching other options.
- Monday 27th of November
More links are now in place in the Transport section. I am
pleased to be able to add a few more people to my 'people' list.
- Wednesday 22nd of November
Added a new comment in, called Crunches. The traffic
coming through seems to have picked up a bit more, with people
actually trawlling the rest of the site a bit more. Thus far a
good percentage of the traffic has been to grab the FAQ and
nothing else.
I even seem to have a few regulars returning to the site.
Interestingly I am in mixed minds about this. I like that it is
happening but now I am frustrated somewhat. Being intensely
curious I want to know why they keep coming back. And
what they see when they do visit. Hmph, the wonders of
decentralised publishing.
- Thursday 16th of November
Added a new comment
into the Atrium. From looking at the pattern of useage in the
logging data I see that the Tranport page would seem to be the
most used section. Some people seem to go on grand explorations,
but not many.
- Saturday 4th of November
I have removed the pages on Wellington, in preperation for
when I start to get charged for having these pages in place.
I have also upload a new comment on Competitions.
- Thursday 2nd of November
Been a little busy of late. Expect a comment, or maybe two,
about these events to turn up soonish. In the meantime I have
added a new link to the Transport section - namely to
Julian's homepage. Hopefully he will add a little more content
to it sometime soon.
Work has finally got their site online, well at least
partially online, so I include a link to it from the Work section in the power complex.
- Friday 13th of October
Added a new poem, Unabomb's
Lament, into the Garden.
- Thursday 12th of October
Added some more links to the transport section. Fixed a
minor, but potentially embarrasing mistake with the HTML.
Been receiving the odd bit of feedback on the pages, thanks to
all those who have replied for the kind comments. It is good to
know that people are finding these pages useful and
interesting. Now if only I can get some clear time to finish a
few things and put some more content up...
Added a new comment to the Atrium on Knowing Yourself.
- Friday 6th of October
Corrected some spelling mistakes about the place, thanks go
to the person who pointed them out to me. It's good to get
feedback. I am debating removing the section on Wellington. It
has only been used about three times and I can't really justify
the massive size for the low useage. So don't be surprised if
it disappears on you.
- Monday 25th of September
Added two new links to the interesting list of the transport
section. Namely a HHGTTG and Tick page reference apeice.
Received a little feedback, thanks for that, which means people
are actually reading these pages. Nice to know.
- Tuesday 19th of September
Added a few new links to the transport section.
- Thursday 14th of September
I have added a new section to the power complex on a trial
basis. I dunno how long it will be there as ther charges for it
might be too prohibitive for me to support. Anyways it is a
quick photo tour of Wellington.
Be warned, it is not small with about a full megabyte of
graphics on it.
- Wednesday 30th of August
Added a new comment to the Atrium, Small Things. After
watching the usage statistics I can tell that people seem to be
using these pages, but thus far very little feedback has come
through.
- Friday 25th of August
Added a new section to the
Teleport section, that of people pages. Currently a
little sparse, but that will be fixed in time. Also added some
new links to the music section.
- Friday 18th of August
Besides my usual updates to the pages I added another comment
to the Atrium.
- Friday 4th of August
Added a link to the secular issues web page on the Religion page.
- Wednesday 2nd of August
Added a few more links to the feminism section in the
teleport area. Fixed the link to the wellington city council.
- Friday 28th of July
Altered the Books section
around alot and added to the frequently changed list. Hopefully
that will cut down on the number of entries into this changes
list.
- Thursday 27th of July
Added a Twin Peaks link to the Teleport area. Updated the
Books section, am toying with splitting this up and fleshing it
out a little more. Will think about it.
- Wednesday 26th of July
Updated the books section, been to the library again.
- Tuesday 25th of July
Fixed a broken link down in Rec/Poems and added a few more
links to the music and feminism sections on the Teleport
area. Corrected one or two case problems with the tag images in
the Comments and Books indexes. Corrected some of the english
on the Why A Web Fort page.
- Sunday 23rd of July
Added the Books section to the
recreation levels.
- Monday 17th of July
Added a few more links to the music and interesting sections.
- Sunday 16th of July
The Help slightly updated. The Movies page now has a link through
to the cardiff movie database for a quick checkup on the movie
content.
- Friday 14th of July
The pages were opened for the first time. Now lets see how much can
go wrong...
